Where to see hog badgers

Where to watch for hog badgers in the wild and in captivity.

In the wild

A number of people have reported seeing hog badgers in the wild, but these have mostly been chance encounters, often when the observers have been on bird watching trips. I am not aware of any locations where hog badgers are seen in the wild on a regular basis.

In captivity

If you really want to see a live hog badger, then a zoo with captive hog badgers would seem to be the only place where you can reasonably expect to do so.

In the mid 1990's, Manipur Zoological Garden in India had several captive hog badgers and were hoping to breed them. If all went well with these animals there should still be some to see at this zoo.

Another hog badger was held in captivity at Hanoi Zoo in Vietnam in 1997, and may still be there.

If anybody is aware of any other places where hog badgers can be seen, please let me know.
